Suggestions of further contacts for advice

  • Legal Advice
If you think you need more detailed legal advice you could telephone your solicitor who acted for you in the care proceedings or you can ring the Resolutions office telephone number 0345-585671 who keeps an up-to-date list of Children's Panel Solicitors (this will be charged at local rates).

  • Social Services
Your social worker should be able to help with most problems and you should be able to contact your social worker by telephone. If you don't know the telephone number of Social Services you can find out by ringing -118 500 and ask for the number of the local authority who has the care order over you. Ask for the number of that authority's social services department. If you ring Social Services you will probably be asked your name, address and birthday and the name of your social worker. If your social worker is not there and you need to speak to someone else you should ask to speak to the "duty" social worker who should be able to help if it is urgent or take a message for your social worker to contact you.
